Bought a few things. Scoffed at the prices of even more things.

Kinja'd!!!

I'm not convinced these two cars were vintage toys. Cool nonetheless.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I know nothing about model manufacturers, but these looked really cool.

Anyone need an ash tray?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

There were some really cool old magazines. But at $15-25 a pop? Nope.

Things I ended up buying:

Two vinyls. This one was $3.

Kinja'd!!!

And an immaculate copy of Johnny Cash at San Quentin for $9.

Kinja'd!!!

And this camera with a flash and the manual for $24.

I'm getting antsy for my favorite flea market to open again. The year-round ones around here are mostly full of cheap chinese junk.

I'd say you did pretty well with your acquisitions. Good finds!

This looks like an older Revell mold, which would mean the design is top-notch and detail excellent, but the molds are probably worn to shit and flash and distort every single piece. Modern Revell is a crapshoot as to whether it's oversimplified or just designed and made weirdly and doesn't fit. Hasegawa I don't know anything about, but if their quality is even *close* to Tamiya, those are worth it.

Hasegawa makes amazing mech kits. Probably the best line of the Macross Valkyries ever produced. I've never looked at their 'real-world' stuff, but I'd assume it's similar.

That's what I expected. The Japanese take their modeling very seriously compared to the US - much more a sport of an otaku-like young men subculture rather than what people give Billy for his 12th birthday, with a price tag to match.

If the lens is good, it's worth about $30 on it's own in that condition!

That's what I was figuring. Everything looks good on it but we'll see after I get some film developed.

The Fw-190 Dora-9 has my HNNGGH. Quite a bit of it.

Hasegawa is no Tamiya, but who is?

They are still head and shoulders above pretty much every North American model manufacturer.

Their 80s kei cars are especially good, and you're not going to see Revell cranking those babies out anytime soon. Just expect to put up with a little bit of extra flash and the occasional confusing instructions

I have a Tamiya kit that isn't sold in the US - had it shipped over. The Engrish on their instructions is fun.

The one right by my apartment is ridiculous. Those people are out there at 630am every Saturday, rain, snow, sleet, or shine. It seems like some sort of sick ritual lol.
